Join me for Ordinary Time Excursions (Pentecost to Advent) on my blog. Through the lives of some of the women of the Bible, we'll see how God has used the most ordinary lives to do the most extraordinary things. And God still does! http://footprintsfromthebible.blogspot.com
What is more ordinary than a family of Canada geese? However, their protectiveness and dedication to their families is a reminder of God's passionate love for you and me! |

Enter the Tabernacle |
Holy Symbolism for your Life |
|||
![]() |
This study offers a look inside the tabernacle built from God’s design as a place of worship in the wilderness and used until Solomon built a temple to the Lord in Jerusalem. By drawing comparisons to church space and worship throughout the ages, you’ll see how the design of the Tabernacle influenced and still impacts our worship spaces. Jesus Christ is our access to God. We are, as Paul says, the tabernacle of the Spirit. By looking at the construction and furnishings of the ancient tabernacle in relation to our personal worship, we find new depth to the relationship with our Lord. While this can be used as an individual or small group study, a more in depth look at the Tabernacle and its symbolism for Christians can be gained during a weekend retreat led by Cynthia. | Beloved Leah |
Works or Faith
|

![]() |
Leah is a woman like many of us. Her identity is tied to what others think of her and their expectations of her. Sometimes her faith in the God of Jacob is strong enough to sustain her. More often, she tried to work hard in order to be accepted. By studying Leah’s response to the challenges in her life, we can learn to accept ourselves, our faith, and God’s love more fully. Leah tried to work hard to attain acceptance and love from Jacob, only gradually realizing that it was God’s love that was more important. In these 12 lessons you will look at what Leah’s life and the Letter of James can teach about seeking approval from God and each other through works rather than by faith. | Women of the Bible |
What they Teach us About our Gifts |
|||
|
|
Enter into the lives of a few Bible women and see how their journeys inform our faith.Through story, we enter bodily into relationship by experiencing the times, places, and life of the character. In relationship, we are enriched, encouraged, and educated. Their lives can help us see our life in a different way. . Leah, Miriam, Rahab, and Naomi all struggled to find God in the circumstances of their lives. The paradox of God is that we and the women of the Bible find God in the darkest of times. “There is not a moment in which God does not present Himself under the cover of some pain to be endured, of some consolation to be enjoyed, or of some duty to be performed. All that takes place within us, around us, or through us, contains and conceals His divine action” Jean-Pierre Caussade. |

This study explores the eternal question of Where God is when ‘bad things happen to good people’? Miriam experienced the despair and fear of bondage in Egypt, which led her to question her faith. This study looks at how this woman of the Bible can help us find answers to that question.Divided into sections relating to portions of the book, you will find questions for your group that are sure to spark enthusiastic discussions.
Study available separately from Cynthia or is included in the 3rd Edition of Miriam's Healing which can be ordered here.
