Cynthia Davis started reading and telling stories almost before she could walk. Her favorite memories include curling up in her father's lap for bedtime stories. She is the best selling author of Rahab's Redemption--winner of the Best Other Fiction award at the NM Book Awards in 2007, and six other titles including 2010 award finalist Mary, My Love! She is also in demand as a speaker for retreats and other events on topics related to research done for her books. Her monthly newsletter provides thoughtful inspiration and a fun 'Biblical' recipe for interested readers.

"In Kindergarten, I was devastated because I did not learn to read the first day." Cynthia smiles. "I knew that the written word was the gateway to adventure. My writing gives you a chance to enter the greatest adventure of all--the Story of God's Love--the Bible. Everyone in the Bible lived with loves, hates and day-to-day difficulties, just like each of us. Many people, even regular church-goers, don't know the characters of the Bible. When they 'meet' Leah or Miriam or Joseph they realize that men and women in the scriptures were struggling with faith and sin and redemption, like us.

In my books, you will encounter their brokenness and healing as they struggle, like us, to live their faith. I enjoy making the Bible live for modern women and men. My books are one way I do this. Another is my blog and through retreats and speaking engagements."

Currently on the staff of the Cathedral Church of St. John, Ms. Davis is also a member of the New Mexico Book Coop. She is a supporter of WINGS Ministry focusing on support for children with a family member who is incarcerated. Ms. Davis has been married since 1975 to her high school sweetheart, Ken. Together they share a love for God expressed in the Footprints from the Bible ministry. Ken tells the story of God's love through his wood, metal, and ceramics, some of which are made as gifts to disadvantaged children. Davis' books, studied, and retreats help us see the 'footprints' of our faith ancestors. Our journeys are enriched when we learn from the lives of those who led the way. Ken & Cynthia their three lovely and talented daughters eight lively grandchildren.

The journey from Sunday School teacher to published author is an amazing testimony to the Grace and Call of God," states Cynthia. “I had no idea that I was setting out on an unexpected journey of self-discovery that has stretched my faith and taught me that truly God is ‘in the details’. Each book is a gift from our Lord, which I pray will inspire and entertain readers.“
